| SA4503 is a potent and selective, small molecule sigma-1 receptor agonist. The sigma-1 receptor plays an important role in the regeneration of the injured central nervous system and its activation by SA4503 stimulates functional recovery. Moreover, SA4503, by virtue of its selective binding to the sigma-1 receptor, displays anti-depressant and cognitive enhancement activities. M's Science has focused its research efforts on this compound and its unique mechanism of action. |
